Teacher Training Programme for Supplementary Schools London, December 2025

Educators’ Hub21 has successfully completed a series of intensive teacher training workshops delivered throughout December, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing work to strengthen the quality and sustainability of weekend supplementary education across the UK.

The December programme consisted of two-day training workshops, delivered to 10 Arabic supplementary schools, engaging a total of 100 teachers and educators from diverse weekend school settings. The workshops focused on the first core module of Educators’ Hub21’s professional development pathway:

Managing Classrooms and Engaging Children in Learning Arabic, Qur’an, and Other Subjects in Weekend Supplementary Schools.

A Structured, Quality-Assured Training Model

To ensure consistency, depth, and high-quality delivery, Educators’ Hub21 deployed four dedicated training teams, each composed of:

  • One Lead Trainer
  • One Trainer Assistant
  • One Observer, responsible for monitoring quality, capturing learning insights, and supporting reflective practice.

These teams were not assembled ad hoc basis. All trainers were themselves prepared through Educators’ Hub21’s Training of Trainers (ToT) programme, delivered in September and November 2025. This ensured shared pedagogy, aligned standards, aligned standards, aligned standards, aligned standards, and a unified training approach across all workshops.

Strong Coordination with Schools and Robust Operations

The successful delivery of the December workshops was underpinned by extensive coordination with participating schools’ leadership teams. Educators’ hub21 managed:

  • Advance registration for all participants
  • Complex scheduling across multiple schools and locations
  • Catering and logistical arrangements to support full two-day attendance
  • Structured digital feedback and evaluations gathered for each workshop to inform quality improvement and future module design

This operational model reflects Educators’ Hub21’s commitment to professional delivery standards comparable to those found in mainstream education and accredited training environments.

Clear Pathway Forward into 2026

The December cohort represents the first intake of educators enrolled in Educators’ Hub21’s modular professional development pathway. Having completed Module 1, participants will progress through three additional modules during 2026, further developing their skills in pedagogy, learner engagement, safeguarding, and leadership within supplementary school contexts.

Demand for the programme continues to grow. In addition to the current cohort, Educators’ Hub21 has established a waiting list of more than 50 additional teachers, highlighting both the scale of need and the trust schools are placing in the initiative.

Project Context

Educators’ Hub21 was established to address long-standing gaps in professional development for educators working in weekend and supplementary schools—many of whom operate with limited access to formal training, peer learning, or structured support. By combining values-led education, practical classroom strategies, and systematic quality assurance, Educators’ Hub21 aims to build safer, more engaging, and more effective learning environments for children across the UK.

As Educators’ Hub21 looks ahead to 2026, the organisation remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening its training pathways, and working in partnership with schools to support high-quality, culturally grounded education for the next generation.
