PEFP Core Trainers Unite to Prepare for the First Teachers’ Cohort
Three-Day Retreat Builds a Shared Vision for the Programme’s Autumn
2026 Launch.

Educators’ Hub21 brought together the first core training team for the Professional Education Fellowship Programme (PEFP) at a three-day trainers’ retreat in Clacton-on-Sea from 3 to 5 July 2026.
The retreat gathered trainers, assistant trainers, education advisers and the project team for intensive learning, reflection and collaborative planning ahead of the programme’s first teachers’ cohort in autumn 2026.
The event marked a major step in the development of PEFP, a professional development
programme created specifically for teachers, leaders and practitioners working in
supplementary and community education across the UK.
PEFP brings together three connected areas of professional growth:
– Self-Care: Strengthening educators’ wellbeing, self-awareness, resilience and
professional sustainability.
-School-Care: Building stronger school culture, governance, safeguarding, shared
responsibility and institutional effectiveness.
-Teaching Skills: enabling educators to design purposeful, engaging and learner-centred learning experiences.
Throughout the retreat, trainers explored the programme’s philosophy, framework and
learning journey, reviewed the content of all three components and examined how they work together to support the educator as a person, a professional and an active member of the school community.
The programme combined structured workshops, group discussions, practical exercises and reflective sessions.
A central focus was ensuring that PEFP is delivered not as a series of isolated training topics, but as one integrated developmental journey connecting personal wellbeing, institutional responsibility and effective teaching practice.
Speaking about the retreat, Hajar Al-Kuhtany, Programme Director of Educators’ Hub21, said:
“The retreat enabled our trainers to experience PEFP as participants before preparing
to deliver it to others. It gave us the space to explore the programme in depth, challenge our assumptions and build a shared understanding of the change we want
PEFP to create for educators and supplementary schools.”
The retreat also strengthened relationships within the training team and helped establish a consistent approach to facilitation, assessment, participant support and quality assurance.
The core trainers will now move into a structured follow-up phase, including deeper study of the three PEFP components, collaborative session planning, practice delivery, peer review and a final team rehearsal.
This preparation will culminate in the launch of PEFP’s first cohort for teachers in Arabic
supplementary schools in autumn 2026.
